Meet the team: Community manager Lucy

Last month we had a change of guard at lifework, and welcomed two new community managers, Lucy and Sam, who you may well have already met. This means it’s time for a new Meet The Team post!

First up is Lucy Augé, who you will find at lifework on Thursdays and Fridays. As well as her role as Community Manager, Lucy is a fantastic artist, but we’ll let her tell you a bit more about that herself, read on...

What's your favourite part of your job -so far- at lifework?

Getting to hear about everyone's different businesses, it's so varied here.

What are you excited about at lifework in 2024?

I am looking forward to growing the monthly lunch break community days, it is a gentle way to network and get to know the other members. Plus we have Business Growth Specialist Kate Freeman coming to forge collaborations between the businesses.

You're an artist. what are your favourite places/times of day to work?

In the morning I go out and look for something to paint, my go-to places are the country lanes surrounding Wellow. The afternoon is spent painting in the studio. I create a painting a week that I send out to my catalogue subscribers.

Which other artists work is on your wishlist?

A sculpture by David Nash. His work is timeless and calm.

What's your life/work balance?

Becoming the lifework community manager on a Thursday and Friday has been brilliant for my mental health, focussing on something different than my own business nad working in an environment full of entrepreneurs. It has created a balance in my week I didn't have before, I come back refreshed and full of new ideas.

I also like to learn new things, you can usually find me on a workshop somewhere. I have tried stained glass, weaving, bench making, plant dying... honestly the list is endless!
